When I signed up through Embarq for dish network I thought great Id get some new channels and new faster internet through embarq. HA what a joke... First off I told the girl that I had Tivo she said no problem dish works with that. So I order 2 dvr's for my other 2 rooms and thought I'd keep my Tivo in the living room. Wellll after having some guy from some place (not a dishnetwork guy in a dish network truck) install my dish he tells my husband that we have 3 days to cancel if we have any problem with the system.
Problem 1 starts - dish Network doesn't give you anytime to cancel their subscription without charging you a $200 cancelation fee. So after trying to figure out why my Tivo isnt working I call Tivo and they tell me NO Tivo doesn't work with Dish Network because of something or other... So I call Dish. And to my luck get to talk to the must aragant little customer service person telling me NO it doesn't work and NO you can cancel your dish but were going to charge you 200$. I then ask to speak to a supervisior and the customer service rep. Tells me that. Well mama theres nothing their going to do for you so why do you need to talk to them. After almost losing it he transfers me to a super who wasn't much better with his mannors either. Tells me to bad he doesn't know why any installer would tell me I had 3 days and thats not their job anyways he just doesnt know what hes talking about. After not so being nice this time I tell the guy thats fine ill just take it to court and they can come get the system and ill let the courts deal with the money they think Im going to pay them.
Well luck was in my favor so I thought. My husbands surfinh the web about Dish Network and finds rip-offreports and looks over telling me about all the problems people have had. I then go on and find an article in which a man had a problem and called dish network/echostar corporate number and had good results. So I call...
Problem 2 starts - I call get a very very plesant woman on the phone that says she very sorry for how they acted and she would help me out. Says I have 2 choices I can keep my system and they'll send me something that can help out with my Tivo but may not fix it all the way (dual tunner). Or she'll cancel our service and waive our cancellation fee. I say great and then she says i might want to call whomever put it in to make sure they wont charge me for canceling. Well after calling whomever company that put it in (who is the one who told me that I had 3 days to cancel) I called back the number and got another person very nice same thing little more a pain in the begininning when I say I wanna cancel and he tells me but we gave you the option to keep it and I tell him after the way I was treated Im NOT keeping their service. He then says ok no problem and starts to cancel. He tells me about hes sorry the customer service guy was and he knows he useto be one untill he got the now higher paying (more or less) job. He tells me they'll send me out boxes that I can send the dish boxes back in and everything should be ok. Im thinking great everythings fixed I have my regular cable back no problem from them again... Well HA was i wrong
Problem 3 starts (and my final strall)- now I call back on 4-6-08 talked to everyone thought everything was fine until today 4-18-08 and I look into my bank account where there is now a debt of $240.00 and guess from who? Thats right dish network. So I call my bank tell them I didnt auth and of course since its new nothing can be done until it posts. As I hang up i call dish corp. Bank get an Im sorry im sorry well resend boxes out and the best part is, is they cant do anything until it clears from my account tonight after midnight and from their it then takes 5-7 business days to get it back in my account!!! OMG they can take 2 seconds to take money from me but then their going to tell me i then have to wait..
