2 $19.00 each rebates for XGBox SubZero AMD CPU cooler bought from Buy.com at the beginning of May.
First, the company ([email protected]) refused to respond to requests about items requried by the rebates that did not exist. Then they qualified the rebates submission that was slightly delayed due to their late response at the pressure of BBB.
Subsequent numerous emails and long distance calls got many promises that were all broken. One solid deadline to pay was given as 1/9/08, but it turned out that their English language differed from mine as the promised payment date was supposed to mean that the check was being requested on that day. But all the exhanges since then have resulted in contimuous promises that the payment was coming.
Messages left for the manager never got respnded and calls were mostly unable to get through, Even the opertor number was recording only and the manager mainboz was full. Emails to [email protected] has not received any responses for a couple of months so far.
This seems to be another shameful company to try to rip customers off. However, I also hold buy.com responsible as this is not hte first time they sold items with fraudulent rebate offers. The past ones were finally paid at BBB's intervention.
Thbis is also a very slippery company whose name is confusing. The rebate person (Uma) said they were called OurBSP, but online requests to either XGBox.com or Ourbsp.com were never responded to and buy.com simply refers me back to the useless email address of [email protected]. This looks like an organized crime. They charge excessively high prices, only to use the rebates to justify the prices, then refuse to pay the rebates.
I saw others have been having similar issues with this company and hope we can make them pay.
