Within 45 days of each other (July, August 07), my Mother-in-law and I both requested an 'upgrade' to our Satellite TV (I had lost one box due to lightening because DISH NETWORK did NOT install a ground wire) from Dish Network via their 1-800 number. Dish told us we would get a rebate of $100.00 split into 10 monthly credits of $10.00 each. They sent a local provider to both our residences and installed equipment.
After SEVERAL months, I inquired of DISH NETWORK as to why we didn't receive our rebate. The first customer rep told us that it was improperly filed and that we needed to re-file it. She gave us a web address to do so. We visited the site only to find that the offer had 'expired' and no available forms were there to proceed with the rebate. We both followed their directions to a tee, including copying off our previous bill and filling out the application.
When checked electronically, the system showed our rebate was 'in progress'. By November, I knew we had been jacked. When I called and asked why we still didn't get our rebate, they first said we didn't file in time but when I pressed the issue, they said 'we didn't qualify' and that the equipment we had installed was done after the date of the offer. This same scenario happened to my mother-in-law who had hers installed 6 weeks earlier and there was no doubt that she qualified by over a month. The local installer even assured us we would get the rebate and he was the one who gave us the original application.
I'm sick of Dish Network and their sub-standard programming and lies. And to think they expect me to refer someone to them after this.
