Refridgerator warranty

The compressor on my refridgerator went bad. It includes a 5-year warranty still in affect. I named sears service. He arrived and that i told him the compressor was bad since i'd someone take a look at it. He required the rear off and removed the thermal protection relay in the side of the system and explained it was the issue and said it'd charge $285 bucks to displace it. The component was bad since the burned-out compressor motor start turning ruined it. The component price $35 bucks and that i realized it'd not fix the problem. I told him he was out of his mind. He was trying to recoup the price of a new compressor from me. All this required fifteen minutes and he tried to relax me another $85 dollars for the service call where period i through him out out. All of the unexpected sears no further has any record of my purchase and requires our original purchase receipt to repair it and so they need to charge me work but wont tell me just how much...
