I doubt if the design engineers were competent

This device is (was) badly designed. Compressor unsuccessful in 1/—/03. Fixed free of charge with Matag compressor. Failed last year. Price to repair was over $700. Not fixed. Purchasing new frig, although not from Sears. I doubt when the layout engineers were qualified.
