Checked prices on line for a Panasonic digital camera, 86th Street Camera had the best price and claimed to be a 5-star certified merchant. Ordered camera on line (supposed to be in-stock) on 12/16/07, got an Email requesting that we call them to verify delivery.
This led to a VERY hard sell for a bunch of accessories (cases, batteries, memory card), seemed over priced, person on the phone was pushy and rude. Chose not order accessories, received an Email from 86th camera and video on 12/17/07 indicating that the camera was on "temporary back order", will be in stock within 3-4 weeks.
On 1/15 received another Email, indicating that the camera was "sold out temporarily" and would be available within about 5-6 weeks. Well, its now coming up on 8 weeks since the last message, 86th street is still advertising this camera as "shipping within 1-2 days". Seems like 86th's business practice is to advertise a very low price, do a hard sell on additional accessories, then fail to ship if you don't order the added merchandise.
