I signed up for a Sprint account about 1 year ago. My plan was represented to me as 800 Anytime Minutes, Free Nights and Weekends, Free Incoming Calls - always, and No Roaming charges - ever.
I recently received a bill which showed over $300 worth of charges due to incoming minutes, nights and weekends minutes and roaming charges.
I called the Sprint billing customer service. She explained to me that if I go over my Anytime Minutes by 1 minute, I will then get charged for incoming,
nights and weekends, and roaming charges, when such calls are received or made while in roaming.
This makes no sense to me, since the things they are charging me for are the free things I chose this plan for. I have no problem paying for additional anytime minutes, but the charges for calls which were represented as "Free" are fraudulent. The plan was evidently misrepresented to me at the time it was purchased.
What they should say is "You have free incoming calls and no roaming charges unless you go over your Anytime minutes by 1 second, then you will get charged for all incoming and roaming" BIZARRE
The Sprint rep also assured me that my home location was covered, yet my phone never works from home unless it roams.
So, the roaming problem has caused the issue and is beyond my control.
I spoke with a Sprint representative approx. 2 weeks ago who told me the excess charges would be credited to my account and that has not happened... Another misrepresentation.
I am refusing to pay the bill without the credit for the incoming, nights and weekend calls, and the roaming charges which were applied when I went over my anytime minutes.
I am willing to go to court over this blatant fraud and misrepresentation. I told Sprint to credit my account or they receive nothing and they will have to sue to get a dime from me.
