Firstline Security
Buyer beware: firstline is not licensed in north carolina!

I want to start off by saying thank you to Scot for taking the time to put the truth out there about this company. Although, most people don't bother to report the companies that mistreat them, once their own issues are settled, I'm happy you've been able to get out of their contract and have found the time to report them.

For anyone who may decide to read this, I don't know Scot and have no association with him in any way (not that I'd be able to prove that to you; you'll just have to take my word for it).

I too felt stupid and uneasy after I signed that contract but was unable to pin point why I felt that way. I also felt rushed to make a decision right there. I'm married, so I told the sales man that I would feel more comfortable if my husband were there with me making this decision to change our alarm systems. But the salesman made it seem like if I didn't go with them that day the opportunity would be long gone forever! I should have known that a legitimate company would want you to feel at ease and would want you to take as much time necessary to check them out before making such an important decision like securing your home. My husband was very upset that I had made that decision without him. Looking back, I really should have known to never feel pressured into making any important decision.

I too found it odd that the salesman in charge of installing just happened to be in the neighborhood. So many flags went up but I just ignored them because I thought I was getting a really good deal.

After I signed "my life away", I happened to notice the same alarm system in a friend's house. Still very excited because I thought I had gotten a good deal, I asked my friend if Firstline had been by their neighborhood as well. He said no. I don't remember where he had gotten his from but it was the same GE model. He asked me how much I'll be paying monthly and I told him $44.95 or $44.99 (something like that). And he told that was really expensive for an alarm system. The funny thing is, I too thought the same thing but once again, another red flag went up but did nothing about it. I was very upset upon hearing that I might have been ripped off.

So anyway, some time went by (about a few months later) when a salesman from ADT came and rang my doorbell (the system that was installed in my home prior to FIRSTLINE).in my mind, I was like here we go again. But he was very polite and said that he just wanted to inform all of his old customers that switched from ADT to Firstline that Firstline was not licensed in North Carolina. I thanked him for the information. I didn't do anything with that information at first because I hadn't been charged yet (even though I had had the system for months now). Then one day, I received a letter in the mail stating that I owed Security Associates International, INC about $134.00. That's when I remembered what the ADT man said. AND that's when I googled Firstline and this article came up and boy am I glad it did. It just confirmed for me what the ADT man said.

I hope this information is helpful to anybody out there who is looking for information about Firstline. Please Beware!!!
