Ripoff, dishonest customer service and billing Ripoff

First of all, I believe someone had previously filed a report about Alltel and having problems with products ordered via internet.

Well, I am in the same situation.

Back in February our current contract was up on our phones. So due to illness and hospitalization, I called the 800 number and worked via the internet to get new phones as we desparately needed them. So I called after looking at the internet and spoke with a customer service/sales person (her name was Terry) who basically sold me a whole lot of mess I now know.

I was a bit undecided as to which phone to get for myself and my daughter. So after this Terry person told me all these great things that would happen if I went ahead and purchased the Motorola razor phones, I said ok.

She promised that we would receive $150 rebate on each phone. I have this info in writing and a witness to this phone conversation. So yes this made it look really good and I should have know better because it looked really too good.

So as I said, I told her to send the phones. And she promised that within a few business days all of the credits would be showing on our account. This was in February and this is now June and no credits.

So I have been toting this HUGE Alltel bill for months now trying to get this mess straightened out. I have called customer service so many times and Alltel conventiently says they have no records of some of the calls.

They have turned the phones off every month since then, charging me to re connect them only after I have to call them and raise cain with them. And to have their people talk to me like I am dirt under their feet.

So about 2-3 weeks ago, we were out and I attempted to make a call and found out they had once again cut the phones off. I called the customer service number and of course got the same long run around...

That time the rep, whose name I have forgotten, anyway told me that, or should I say threatened me, that I had to give her a post dated check of no less than $300 to get the phone service restored. So being in a panic, I did this and right now could kick myself really hard for buckling in to this demand.

Anyway, she promised service to be restored in 5 minutes. 3 hours later, I had to call back and raise more cain and finally got service.

A few days later, I had to go through the exact same mess all over again and this has cotinued to happen every couple of days since then.

So I called home office in Arkansas and spoke to what I was told was a customer service dept head. She promised, she would get things taken care of. WRONG!

She also informed me that it was my responsibility to get the rebates. I was shocked as when we originally ordered phones, was told total opposite by Alltel themselves!

I immediately sent the info off to the rebate center, only to be told the time line for filing had expired. I have since written to them telling this story but have not heard a thing from them.

So here I sit, a app. $700 bill and they keep charging for reconnect, etc. I am very sick about this situation. They have given hundreds of empty promises to straighten this out.

If anyone has any suggestions that will help me, please please let me know.
