On May 12th, I ordered a free-to-air satellite receiver, a Coolsat 7000 Micro PVR from FTA Satellite Shop. This is June 7th, and I still have nothing more than the order confirmation with an order number. Twice I have sent emails to their sales department, and only got an autoresponder message back, saying that someone would contact me within 48 hours, which never happened. With no response there, I also sent a message to their tech department, and got the same autoresponder message back, again with no follow up.
When I looked harder at their site, I found no physical address listed, and no phone number for anything. When I got my bank statement, I found that the order had been charged, and there was a phone number listed after it, the only one I have found anywhere. When I called it, I got a voicemail for a Nathan Vandewarker, so I left a message. Still I got no response.
I tried again a few days later, and got the same message, but this time, I did a reverse number lookup, and found that it belonged to nothing more than a cell phone in T-Mobile's network in San Diego. I couldn't even find a white pages listing for this person. I am currently going back through my bank and through PayPal to try to get these charges reversed.
Also, I realize this receiver may be a new product, but they do have it listed for sale, and if there was a reason for the delay, a reputable company would have sent me a notice about that. It isn't the lateness of delivery, it is the total unresponsiveness of the company that makes me angry, but I blame myself for not doing my research first.
For those who are in similar situations, NEVER order from a company who doesn't list a physical address or phone number on their site. I should have known better, since I also have an online retail business, and I answer customer inquiries within 12 hours max. If anyone has any other information on this company, please post what you have, and if this company is truly ripping people off, lets try to put a stop to it.
