Circuit City City Advantage Protection Plan
Returned Camera and told me it was not warrantied for the fix Ripoff Internet

On 10/24 05 I purchased a City Advantage Protection plan for 3 years for a Kodak Digital Camera. I was told that this was a plan that provided "hassle free repair or replacement". Im March of this year I was taking photographs when I went to shut the camera off, the lens would not go back into the camera. I called the CityAdavantage 1-800-555-4615 number and a technician asked me to do several steps to which he said he would be sending a box for me to ship the camera for repair. I told him of my new change of address. The box was sent to the wrong address. I notified them and again sent to wrong address. I notified a third time and got the box 3 days later, I packed the camera as instructed and shipped to Precision Camera Repair Inc. 3 Anngina Drive, Enfield, CT 06082 www.precisioncamera.com. Around 4/18 I got a call that the camera was not going to be repaired because it showed considerable damage and it must have been dropped or banged hard. I told them that the camera was not dropped or mis - treated and that it was just that the lens would not go back into the camera. They said it was their decision and were sending it back. For days I attempted to contact the administration of this plan and got nothing but a run around. I was then connected to service again and I requested to speak to the highest in charge, The person told me that he was the highest I could go and that it was his decision that the camera was noticibly damaged and would not repair it. He told me not to tell him how to do his job. I rerquested to speak to corporate headquarters. He gave ne a reference number of 11477079 and then hung up on me. Every number I called, gave me another number until I was sent back to the original number. I called 1-800-871-2761 and told my story. They gave me 1-800-395-4377 and I told my story there and they gave me Jeff at consumer relations 1-800-251-2665 and then I was to sent to 1-800-871-2761 where I started this trek. It was a Catch 22. When I got the camera back I went to the Circuit City Store where I purchased it and told them my story again to which they said they would have a camera person look at it. He did that and told me that from what he saw there should be no reason why they could not repair it. I asked if they could repair it there because I had a "carry-in" plan and they said they were too small to provide the service. They gave me a number to call to take care of my problem., That number was 1-800-251-2665!!! Here we went again, same number, same run around. I tried once more and the person on the line told me that I should take the camera back to the store and have them call the Service. This is where I stand for buying a protection "hassle-free" PLAN FOR MY DIGITAL CAMERA. Their word against mines and a store camera person, that it was the decision of Precision Camera to deem the camera damaged and not warrantied for the type of damage. This is a very good plot for them to make determinations like this one so they do not have to make repairs. I am out of a cmaera and $96 dollar repair plan, Hope someone out there can help me. I am really surprised that such a large company like Circuit City would allow this. Thanking you in advance.
