Sprint PCS Mobile Phone Service is the most consumer-unfriendly service I have ever encountered. Making changes to an account, trying to talk to individuals to effect change, and finding cad-do customer service reps with initiative are close to impossible tasks at this organization.
I signed up for a month-to-month service in January, and discovered after receiving my first bill that I was signed up for a year contract. Customer service was unresponsive, not yet rude, and after talking to various reps, I resolved to cancel, yet the cancellation department told me since I was, treated me like a liar and a con, and rude and unprofessional. After I wrote a letter summarizing my concerns, I was telephoned (in the evening) by someone from the executive customer department, and apologized to, and she claimed that my contract was changed.
When wanting to cancel several months later (July), reps from Sprint told me they could not cancel it, left me on hold various times, transferred me to other people who could not help me, etc., etc. When the reps listened to my situation, instead of staying on the phone and following up for me, they would put me on hold and then transfer me to another department, for me to talk to someone else, who was not familiar with the situation! The person who talked to me in March left no phone number and she apparently left the company. Amazingly, no Sprint rep. Could give me any phone number for that department, nor could connect with any decision makers or management.
They still insist I have to pay the one year contract cancellation fee - a sham!
Amazing how anything gets done at that company with no one having any authority nor iniative to assist.
And this is the same company that allowed someone who stole my social security number four years ago open five cell phone accounts on the same day using my information and not checking up on it! What great safeguards!
Sprint PCS has no concern for its customers and makes the system and customer service department so unwieldy and unfriendly that
they do brisk business, but only for the time being.
