In May of 1991 I got a phone with MCI. All was well for about 6 months. I stopped getting bills so I called them. They said not to worry, I would get one shortly. Shortly I received a letter from a collection agency. I called them and they said just sent a letter with xx amount. I did that. The plan was a year old by then, time to get a new cell phone. I get a plan with AT&T and... No bill for 6 months.
The amount was so high that I paid them the regulary monthly fee plus about $25 extra, monthly. I signed up for monthly billing as a matter of fact, right? Well I did this for a few months and 2 times they turned off my phone. When I called to get it turned back on I had to pay by credit card. I dont understand it at all since I signed up for AT&T;, go figure. Now the best part. It is now a WHOLE YEAR later, and I get a letter from another collection agency for the FIRST phone. I called them.
They insisted on payment. I told them I paid final payment. Argued back and forth.in the end the man said they were going to tack further action if I refused to pay the almost $300. Furthermore he told me that MCI had already written me off and that my credit was already ruined!!! I cant wait for my day in court, I am with you whoever said it before here, How about a class action everyone?
