Model CPR250 VHS Camcorder by RCA contains a flimsy, plastic "record" button tab which breaks off inside the camera, during normal use - 1 to 3 years after purchase.
This is a big repair bill - since the camera must be completely dis-assembled.
I was able to dis-assemble the camera myself, re-glue and strengthen the tab and re-assemble the camera. It took me 2 hours.
The "record" trigger is made of cheap plastic which degrades and hardens. The tab, which actuates the internal "record" button is less than one-sixteenth inch thick and breaks under the slight pressure against the button.
Considering the good quality of the camera's electronics - such a flimsy piece of plastic can only point to BUILT-IN SABOTAGE!
