I wanted to save major money on my phone bill by switching to Vonage. I succeded in this endeavor with only one problem. I no longer could make telephone calls that lasted longer than 30 seconds. It soon became a major joke every time we mentioned the word Vonage. I told my wife " NO problem. We dont need to communicate with anyone anyway".
This was fine except she has relatives overseas and I am in the National Guard perpetually on call and I have to be able to use the phone to communicate. For 3 months I pretended that Vonage was just wonderful. I learned to talk really fast so I wouldnt get cut off. But the last straw was when I had to get my complete sentences out within 5 seconds because thats how long my connection was lasting.
I finally got Vonage customer service and of course it was as hilarious as the Vonage itself. They transferred me to Comcast customer service. Then finally I got Vonage. They offered me some free service so I wouldnt disconnect. Then I said " You gotta be kidding me". I said " PLease dont get into the phone business until you have a phone company that is functional".
After long period of silence the man told me I had to pay $ 85.00 to disconnect. I said sure. Anything just cut it off. I cant make calls anyway and that 85.00 is about as clear as Vonage.
