I am a pretty saavy consumer. I bought a DVD at Best Buy, and at the register, the cashier said "You get 8 free issues of Time Magazine". I said "Great!"
The cashier ran my credit card, and then she said "Oh, the signature did not go through", so she ran my card again.
When I got outside and read my receipt, IT SAID I PURCHASED A 24 ISSUE SUBSCRIPTION TO TIME MAGAZINE with 8 trial issues! YIKES!
I went back inside the store, and asked the manager to take the TIME Magazine subscription off. SHE TOLD ME SHE COULD NOT!!! I insisted that if I bought it here two minutes ago, she should be able to cancel it. She said no, I would have to call the 800 number. Total B/S. I don't have time for this crap!
I returned the item purchased, but I still think the magazine subscription is coming. Now I have to watch for it and use my precious time to cancel it.
I will be writing to Consumer Affairs on Monday. I will not give Best Buy any of my business again!
