I signed up w / Verizon and wanted to switch carriers after my 1yr contract ends. I called Verizon and spoke to 2 diff CSR, both confirmed my ending contract date is 8/23/06 (I also have the first invoice from Verizon showing my ending contract date is 8/23/06) and if I cancel after that date I would not incur an ETF of $175. I also ask both CSR if they prorate my bill if I cancel in the middle of the billing cycle after 8/23 and they both said "NO" that I had to pay this bill in full for service til 9/12/06.
Based on their info, I paid the bill in full for service to 9/12/06 and ported my number over on 8/29/06. To my surprise I was charged $175 for ETF so I called & spoke to a CSR, he also confirmed my ending contract date was 8/23 but somehow my service was accidently disconnected and reconnected before 8/23 so he submitted a request to remove the $175. When I receive my final bill I was still charged for $175 ETF and my service was prorated. I had to call & speak w / another CSR and he try to tell me that my ending contract date is actually 8/30/06 and my request for ETF removal was denied. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she will submit another request but can't guarantee. As for the prorated charges, she said there's no record of what the CSR said.
I am being overcharged for their company's mistakes & misleading information. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on what I can do?
