I have a cell phone through Nextel, which I strongly advise not to have. They are always harrassing me every month when they only give me about 5-6 days after receiving my bill that it is due. At first, I was told I have a $300 spending limit, that as long as I didn't exceed that, the phone would not be shut off. Now I am being told that if it is over 30 days late it will be shut off, that is ridiculous.
That is not the source of my gripe though. I had a problem with one of my phones and I took it in to be returned to a local Nextel store, I was charged $30 for a "new" phone which was not new it was refurbished. The walkie-talkie feature on the refurbished phone does not work at all. I called the local store and was told if I return it for another one, I would be charged another $30 - I said h*l no. I requested that the 1-888 number remove the $30 dollars off my bill - I was told it was policy to charge the $30 and within 30 days I could return it at no charge - gee that is totally different from what the local store. I just want $30 removed from my bill. I talked to a manager named Brian at the 1-888 Nextel and they are rude and unwiling to work with you at all. I want the $30 credited to my account. Even if I get the $30 back I would not recommend that anyone uses Nextel.
