I ordered a 26" Niko TV from Tiger Direct in May, due to a good price and a $100 rebate. I hate rebates, but this seemed a good deal so I ordered it.
When it arrived there was no invoice taped to the box, as is usually the case for mail order. The invoice was required for the rebate request. I emailed Tiger support, and in response got a web link where I could get the invoice emailed by entering my order ID. I tried it, it did not work. I found another place on the web site that allowed an invoice request to a specific address (instead of the account email). I tried that many times with different email addresses. No invoice ever showed up. The web site recognized the order, because if I put in an incorrect zip code, it alerted me to that. Altogether I probably tried about 20 different times.
I tried calling, and after about 1/2 hour of cruel and unusual punishment in the phone menu system I finally got to speak to someone. He said there was a problem with my email address, fixed it and promised and invoice was on it's way. Still no invoice!
I email again explaining the problem. Got the same response and link as before. I tried one more email, explaning the complete problem in detail, and requested they directly email me the invoice since their invoice links did not appear to work. I got a response saying the invoice was on it's way. It never turned up.
I've now given up. I will never deal with these fraudsters again. Their ripoff is very simple: don't send an invoice, no rebate! So beware!!
