After being relatively pleased with Verizon I was utterly shocked to be the recipient of a 500 plus dollar phone bill for one of the phones I had removed from the share plan. I was made aware when discontinuing with the service to that phone that I would be liable for a one time $175.00 Early Termination Fee, to which I agreed. When I received the bill, I immediately called customer service thinking it was a simple billing error. I was informed that since the service was halted only 3 days into the billing cycle that the 1350 minute plan was pro-rated and I was only allowed 479 minutes making me billable for 898 minutes @314.30, Early Termination Fee of $175.00, Service charge of $7.29 and cost me $71.00 in Taxation! How can I be billed for all those minutes when it comes "FREE" when you purchase a given plan? I was given a simple answer from customer service. "Its just policy"... To which I replied, " If I had known your policy regarding this I would have waited for the end of the month as I had explained to them the service was being discontinued from that phone for financial reasons to start with. They actually put me deeper into a bind with this action. I am very angry feeling as if there is no recourse.
