I received service with Cingular Wireless 3 months ago. At first everything went smooth. I was happy, so I ordered 2 additional lines and upgraded my minutes plan.
When I got my next bill I was overcharged by 75.00 dollars. They corrected the error, but I still came out paying more than what I was told it would be. This month I was curious to see how we were doing, as far as
sharing minutes with our new plan. I tried to log in to Cingular.com, but it kept saying not a valid mobile number.
I decided to call customer service to see what I was doing wrong. The menu had an option to check your minutes used, and available. So I did, when the message ended it stated my balance owed for this month. It was $1,299.29. I almost passed out! I knew it was a mistake. I talked to customer service and they said that it was because of phone calls made to Africa!
I told them that I have never called anybody outside my local area, and I didn't even know anyone in Africa. Besides you would have to be making a lot of calls to amount to $1,299.29. The supervisor said the calls were made from my phone, and I have to pay it, and there is nothing I can do.
I told her to cancel my service, so I don't keep getting charged, at least until I can straighten this out.
Now I not only will be charged the $1,299.29 for the calls I never made, I also have to pay $ 150.00 (x 3) for early termination. All for something I never did!!
