Rebate trouble Ripoff

I am still awaiting a rebate check from this company. I submitted my rebate and all supporting documents on 3 Jan 05. Their automated rebate phone line (866-256-1487) states my submission was processed 4 Feb 05. On 14 Feb 05, I emailed their rebate center (inquiry@cs. Rebatestatus.com) inquiring about my rebate. The reply email stated that they had a valid rebate submission currently being processed & a check would be mailed upon completion of processing, please allow 6-8 weeks from submission date. On 17 Mar 05, I again emailed the rebate center with the came inquiry. At this time, the rebate status website (http://letstalk. Rebatestatus.com) still had no information pertaining to my rebate and it was 12 wees since submission. I also emailed customer support on 17 Mar 05 requesting any information on the status of my rebate as the replies from the rebate center appeared to be automated. I received a reply from "[email protected]" on the evening of 17 Mar 05 stating they had the rebate submission & to please allow a few weeks for final processing. On 13 Apr 05, I contacted customer support at 877-825-5460 and was informed they had issued the check on 24 Mar 05, please allow 2 weeks for delivery. Since more than 2 weeks had passsed at the time of this call, & assuming they used USPS for mail (2 weeks for mail???) I stated I still hadn't received it. I was informed the check had bee sent to 116 N Adams, not 1116 N Adams. Since all the information on the rebate form is printed from a website provided by the company itself & the phone arrived at the proper address, I inquired ho the check was sent to the wrong address. No answer was given, but I was assured they would place a stop payment on the issued check & send another to the correct address after another 6-8 weeks of processing. Processing for a submission that had already been apporved once? OK, they have my money I guess I'll wait. On 10 May 05, I called customer service to check the status of the rebate, since it still wasn't showing up on the automated website.

I was told they had no record of my previous call/complaint & that there had been nothing submitted to the rebate center with a request for stop payment/reissue of rebate check. The representative on this call assured me the new information had been submitted & I would have my check in about 2 weeks. I told her the last time the information had been submitted I was told they needed to completely reprocess & to expect 6-8 weeks on the check. She stated I should have my check in hand in 2 weeks once again. I asked for a reference # or something I could cite if I had to call back yet again once those 2 weeks passed & I still had no rebate. She informed me it had been entered & I could call back to check as verification. I Called customer support again in the first week of June 05. I was told at that time they could do nothing for me as they didn't handle the rebate portion of the business. I was given the number for the rebate center and told to call them.

Today I called the rebate center & was told they were processing the rebate (again) & my check would be mailed when the processing was done. I explained the situation & was told that whoever told me I would have my check in 2 weeks was flat out wrong & that all resubmissions/changes/stop payment situations required complete processing from the beginning. I asked if there was any way around this since they've already processed it at least once & had even gone so far as to issue a check (to the wrong address). I was told they couldn't do anything & to have a good day. Before terminating the call, I asked when the current processing with the correct address was started. I was rudely informed that it had been started 20 May 05.

Assuming they will take the full 8 weeks to processs this time plus the 2 weeks allownace for whatever mail system they are using, this means I MAY have my rebate check at the end of July, almost 7 moths after submission. This is unacceptable. I also contacted customer support today after speaking with the rebate center to get an address for corespondence and filing this complaint. The customer service rep stated he had no address to give me & that it was on the website. I told him I was looking at the "Contact Us" page on the website & there were nothing but phone numbers listed. After arguing for another minute, he finally gave me the addres of the customer service center. I also inquired if there was anything to be done about the situation. The customer service rep told me it is all in the hands of the rebate center & the rebate center has effectively told me I'll get my check when they get it to me, regardless of the 6-8 week processing time.
