Steer clear of Verizon Wireless and their crappy Kyocera (mine was a model ACP 2035a) phones. Mine wouldn't give a clear signal even when I was seated in my living room, and this is in a metropolitan area of six million people! The signal would regularly break-up and often lose the call entirely (my success rate on completing a ten minute call was about 50%).
When I called their customer service line (an oxymoron if there ever was one), the only help I was offered was the chance to get out of my two-year contract, provided I was willing to pay a $175 extortion (contract termination in their language) fee.
