Complaint / Review
Wirefly, InPhonic
Ripoff deceptive marketing

Going thru the form of filing this complaint was a good exercise.

It made me look at the facts of my individual case.
Wirefly sucks, no doubt about it. I advise everyone to shell out the extra $30-$X and get your phone from a more legit source.

They are deceptive in their marketing and then extremely difficult to get ahold of.

My issue now is that I am filling for my rebate. I should have immediately put the 3 of 4 things that I had access to when I got the phone into an envelope. As it turns out, I do not have the UPC from the box with me and so will probably get screwed.

In other instances, I had an issue with the phone being shipped to the wrong address b/c no one contacted me despite my comment in the online order form NOT TO SEND THE PHONE TO SUCH-AND-SUCH AN ADDRESS. There was a billing issue which was a nightmare to deal with also.

I'd like to start the rumour right here that wirefly is run by about 3 people out of a garage somewhere and they are doing great business b/c they are impossible to get ahold of and very deceptive in their marketing; but I won't.

I used them after being told of them by a relative, who also cautioned me about problems she had. She and her husband ordered a phone with a free, 'money-back rebate'. She is very organized and persistent. They printed out everything from the online site. They were shipped different phones than those which were advertised with the deal (lacking speakerphone and other listed features). After a lot more time than I would ever put into it, she spoke to a manager who agreed to send them the top-of-the-line phone they had (b/c apparently the one that was advertised online was one that they didn't even offer). Despite her request to remove the faulting advertising from the web, the ad remained for at least a month longer. She contacted the BBB and other organizations which I would if I thought the $50 I 'got screwed out of' merits all this time I have been putting in to straightening things out.

If anyone can find a home address for someone who works with this company, please pass it on.

I'll provide more information if necessary. Avoid wirefly / inPhonic. But, also be honest with yourself about where they lied.in my case, I don't think they did. Their customer service stinks thoe. They just made my whole new cell phone experience messy.
