I bought a second gen. Ipod last june at the Williston Circuit city, because Best Buy didn't have any. It was a second Gen. 20 gb ipod, and when i went to buy it they strongly recomended that i get there city advantage program. So i did, but a week ago, the batterie died.
I went to call them up to talk with some one about what to do (since I've Never worked with Circuit City) and they told me i coulden't bring it back to them. I talked to a manager and he siad i had to mail it to him.
Once i went ont the web to get a shipping tag, i was trying to figure out how long it would take, and witht he info. I gather, it takes about a month!
Heres the catch, they don't send you a new ipod, they just give you a gift card.
This is complete CRAP. I have to be without my ipod for a month. Screw that. So i went to best buy and got a new one. And with there plan (I know this for a fact since i've done it with my XBOX) you can just bring it back to the store, and trade it in for a new one. Now how hard is that?!?!
After this experience with Circuit city, my advice is don't buy anything there that would require a warenty. Heck, just go to best buy. They have a reward program, circuit city doesen't, and they actually help you.
