I switched from T-Mobile to ATT on the day after my contract with T-Mobile expired due to lack of service at my daughter's work place. The next day I contacted T-Mobile and cancelled their service as instructed by ATT. When we received our bill from T-Mobile we were charged for the full month of service after the cancellation because ATT had initiated the port of the numbers rather than T-Mobile. This is sick. It is obviously a way to gouge the user. How many people would call the cell service provider that you are leaving to port the number. That is something that you let the new provider do.
If you do business with T-Mobile be sure to read the fine print.
