I bought a vehicle in 1998 with the Money Store. They sold the account to palisades collection in july. I did not know about this until I tried to buy another car and saw that they were on my credit report. I filed bankruptcy in october and I put them in Chapter 7.
To my dismay they were still reporting an active account on my credit file. I found there number and called them and ask why they were still reporting on my credit as an active account 3 years after a bankruptcy was filed.
As of 8/04 they are still saying that i have an open account although the account was put in bankruptcy. I am going to contact my attorney about there fraudulent practices and the corruption that is going on with that company. I do have the phone number the office in englewood NJ that number is 1-800-414-8319... They also have another office in GA that number is 1-866-230-8075.
