I have written three letters to Palisades and called them (which was a yelling match) I found out about this account by looking at a copy of my credit report. My address is listed and they never sent me a letter or anything. Come to find out that they allege I owe money for an AT&T account. AT&T merged and no longer exists. Furthermore, i never had an at&t account in my life even when they were an active corporation. I worked for the Attorney General and know that these types of predatory collection agencies do this stuff slap it onto unsuspecting persons' credit reports so when that poor person is trying to close on their home or under pressure, GEUSS WHAT??? The unsuspecting individual under pressure pays the bill and they know it that is why they do this AND IT IS COMPLETELY ILLEGAL!
I will be filing a lawsuit for damages against them and the credit reporting agencies for failure to abide by the Fair Credit Reporting Acts and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
