I was given a phone number for Community Health Plan Services (CHPS) (From this number they were to give me information so that I could qualify for getting my prescription drugs with a $6 co-pay).
The number I was given was 1-800-638-0668 when I dialed the number they told me a new number 1-900-622-8000 I dialed it and was told it would cost $9.99 to connect to this CHPC for information. Operator said they were Cirrus Bureau Networks.
I don't have long distance on my phone, so why would I be able to afford $9.99 for a connection fee to get information which is supposed to be free and available to the public? What kind of a rip-off is this one?
Can you immagine the elderly calling and trustingly saying ok connect me for $9.99!!
