Extremely Poor! Do Not Purchase A Dog From Debcha Kennels! We purchased a shih tzu from Debcha Kennels in 1993. Ellie became such a beloved member of our family. Unfortunately, she suffered from frequent urinary tract infections, dry eye, gastrointestinal bleeding, bladder stones, lymphomic cancer, premature disk disease, and kidney failure. These conditions were primarily due to Debcha Kennels use of overbreeding, in-breading, and not preventing flawed bloodlines. Several people have complained to various agencies about the poor quality of pups from Debcha Kennels.
We had Ellie treated extensively by several top vets including doctors at the Ohio State University Veterinary Clinic. Many of our vets informed us that they have treated many dogs with extensive health problems that came from Debcha Kennels.
We spent over 10 thousand dollars trying to keep Ellie alive over the course of her shortened life. Despite being continually ill, she tried so desparately to live a normal life. No dog should have to endure the kind of extensive health problems that Ellie had to experience. And this was all due to human greed!
We lost Ellie in June. The emotional pain that our family experienced from her continual illnesses and premature death was severe. We loved her so much and miss her everyday. You cannot imagine how much this hurts! Debcha kennels is nothing more than a puppy mill! Don't be fooled by AKC registration. AKC registration only ensures pedigree, not health! Debra Alabaugh of Debcha Kennels lost her AKC registration privileges in 2002 for poor record keeping yet she still continues to breed shih tzu pups.
Please help to stop this type of breeding. Do not purchase a puppy from Debcha Kennels of Grove City, Ohio. Miss Ellie "Baber" will never be forgotten!
