University Of Phoenix
Axia college, apollo group lied about financial aid phoenix

When I enrolled in UOP In the beginning of 2010 I had a bad feeling when they could not give me information on the programs of study. The enrollment person pushed and pushed, it took me a couple of days, and numerous phone calls before I actually enrolled. One question I asked is if financial aid would cover my degree program because I knew there were limits on undergraduate degrees. The enrollment rep. Transferred me to the financial advisor, who advised me that my financial aid would more than cover my degree program. They transferred in my community college credits, and I got started. As I completed my classes, I monitored the "percent of degree completion" tool on my uop website. After realizing that I had completed more than half of the classes listed on my degree program and it still only said 18% completed, I questioned the percentage. When I spoke with Brian Crespin, my financial advisor, he said that I was only signed up for my core classes, and that my financial aid would only cover my core classes, not my gen ed classes (which I needed 20 more credits). So here I am about 5-6 classes from believing I will graduate, and I find out that I have 20 more credit needed to graduate. No problem I will take the clep exams for these credits, but Brian was completely dishonest about financial aid covering my classes... If there is a class action lawsuit, I will join.

When I questioned him about the dishonesty, he denied ever speaking to me... I wish I would have recorded the conversation... I never would have enrolled if I had known that I wouldn't have enough financial aid to complete my degree. I remember telling the enrollment person that I did not want to enroll if I didn't have enough financial aid to finish, but he assured me my financial aid would cover it without even looking at my current student loans, and when I persisted with the question he said "just to make you feel better, I am going to transfer you to the financial advisor (Brian), so he can check for you". Lies, Lies, Lies!!!

I am still enrolled, hoping I can finish my BA, and take it to another university and complete my Masters, because I am so scared that I won't be able to use this degree and I will be in debt...
