I realized that I had forgotten to send my check in the mail to make payment on my Providian credit card, so I called the phone number on the billing in order to make a payment by phone.
When I told the lady I wished to pay with my "debit card", she refused to take payment, saying they could only accept payments made by "Phone Check". Of course, after she recorded my payment, she then informed me that the company was going to place a charge of $14.95 (processing fee) onto my credit card, for having made payment via telephone!
Had I have sent my payment (via check) through the U.S. Mail, because it was late, they would've charged my account a $35.00 "Late Fee". This is a ripoff if I've ever seen one!
