On 3/10/04 I was charged 9.95 by this company on my Mastercard. I did not authorize this charge; indeed, I have never heard of them.
After unsuccessfully trying to contact ews-design, I promptly contacted my credit union, but have not had a lot of success. They claim they must issue me a new card number before they can reverse the charge, saying that Mastercard requires this.
While I am willing to do this, I am reluctant because I have several recurring automatic charges to this card, and it's going to be a pain to get it all changed over. I
tried to find a window in which activity was at a lull, but today I finally decided to bite the bullet. So I went in to get a new card, and now they're telling me that once they issue me a new card, neither the new card nor the old will work for a period of at least one day,
possibly several days.
What a joke! I get the feeling they hope I will just forget about the whole thing. It's practically like they're trying to talk me out of changing the card number.
