I noticed an $11.89 charge on my latest credit card statement with a phone number from a Missouri area code but with the state abbreviation of MN. Calling that number reached a recorded message to the effect that all operators were busy and to contact the company at [email protected].
I had never heard of this company or done any business with them. Checked out the web page of this so-called web design company at nlm design.com. Could not find any other way of contacting this company even though they evidently obtained my credit card number and placed a fraudulent charge on my card account.
I telephoned my credit card company, filed a dispute report and then also wrote the facts in hard copy and mailed it to my credit card company (hard copy is easier to follow-up and is a stipulation by this particular credit card company). The charge is supposed to be reversed, credit card number canceled and a new card sent.
I plan to file a complaint with the state Attorney General.
