Everest University Not accreditted, omissions on information Internet

Everest has a problem with omissions. For instance, they say they are accredited. They are, but only for a couple of schools. Many schools, including major universities and colleges, will not accept credits from Everest. Secondly, they fail to tell you, when they assign you only one class in your last term, that one class is equal to half time and can only be paid out of pocket. Due to a scheduling error, they had to tack on a class at the end of my degree as a stand alone class in the final term. Two weeks before class was finished, and my degree complete, they told me I needed to pay the $1616 to graduate. I was suprised as they explained that the reduction to half time meant finacial aid did not cover the last class. They gave me the option of a genisis loan. I was then pre-approved and told all was going to go through and I was ok. After school was complete I was given an exit package and dealt with a counselor who helped you get a job or made sure you were going to another school.

Three weeks later I had transferred to a higher school to work on a much higher degree. The first problem came when I found out that none of the credits I spent four years getting at Everest were transferable. Then, the transcripts sent from Everest had a school listed that I did not attend. I had to call Everest and get them to fix what they saw as a typo. I then requested a new transcript sent to the new college. Everest refused. I told them I would pay any transcript fees, they still refused. When I called Everest they said I had graduated from there (which you can not do if you owe money). They then looked into why they could not send me a transcript and stated that I owed them $1616. I asked them what happened to the genisis loan. They stated that I had not done one and could not get one now that I was no longer enrolled. The only way I could get my degree and not owe them money is if I returned to Everest. I am now going to have to drop out of my current university because I can not get finacial aid without a correct transcript from my previous colleges.

I have to say, another problem with Everest is their teachers. They are called instructors, as they are not college professors. I actually helped two different instructors with the class because they did not understand computers very well. Most of my teachers were instructors strictly to make the money on the side and had a very difficult time actually instructing! For one of the criminal classes I had a police officer, he would give examples of things he saw. He never taught us the subject or had opened discussions with varying opinions. The classes are very lenient in that students use "text talk" on boards and team work, bad or no real grammar, bad spelling, bad to no capitilization, and the idea of "APA formatted references" is a link to the web site. Many of the assignments are repetitive. I had the same assignments for three of the classes (Crime Scene Dynamics I & II—there was no difference in these two, and the Intro to crime scenes). I was dumbfounded when I went to a real college later and felt like I had just left first grade to enter my senior year of high school. I am still online but the content difficulties, real text books (Everest has their own that only CCI colleges use and no one else), and real professors is so different that I really do not feel like I have spent over three years in college before i started there.

I have several health problems and spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals during my years at Everest. My determination to do school work, even hooked up to IVs, allowed me to think I was still going to graduate and get a degree. Not only did I never recieve the degree, but now I can not further my education and I owe money to Everest that I do not think they are even worth.
