Although it has been a while since my experience with AIU, I would be glad to share my experience. Before I had actually enrolled in any classes, I had an admissions counselor who did everything she could to convince me that AIU online was the school for me. I was lead to believe that I could study at my own pace and that I could leave the school at anytime, both of which turned out to be untrue.
My mom's house had sold, so I knew that there would be money to cover any education beyond my Bachelor of Science degree. When I learned that the man who was handling these funds had died and the money had disappeared, I tried to cancel the enrollment process. The enrollment counselor would not let me quit. It took two terms until finally the school let me go.
Years later, I learn that AIU is one of those "for profit" schools and I am stuck with a school loan that I still can't pay. Only now, I learn that my SSDI can be garnished.
If there is anybody who is involved in a class action suit against this school, I will be willing to join you.
