On March 24, I received an invoice for $3,500 and an
invoice of 1,320 for repayment of a student loan from
American Education Services (Wachovia). This was sent
to CTU after I was no longer attending classes. I was
no longer allowed in the class room on the web site. I
was notified that I needed to pay my account in full
to continue taking classes. However, I paid for my
classes in full the remaining balance out of my funds.
I did not owe the school any more funds.
However CTUis charging me for having access to the website, in which was instructed to me when I called the school. But that is the only way I could communicate with the school from Iraq during that time. Although I was no
longer attending classes, CTU still kept the loan
money, instead of sending it back to the school.
Please find enclosed a copy of some of the documents,
I still have more I have to send I just have to look
through my paper work. According to the loan
agreement, the school was obligated to pay the money
back to the lender or send it to the person name on
the check. I emailed the school constantly to
discontinue enrollment.
I have the financial advisor name that I emailed constantly and I will send you his name as soon as I get the paperwork. Because he was very rude, especially when I decided to stop attending classes, he would respond to my emails regarding the loan and my previous enrollment at CTU.
My last day of class was 6/17, in which I received an unofficial transcript from the military education center with the date on it. I was advised by my military counselor to discontinue classes because of the money be giving to the school, and consider going to a community college. Also my GI bill was also being used to pay the school for my education additional grants.
During this time of not attending classes the school also received financial aid checks, However when I paid my student account I received a letter saying my account was paid in full. Then I get accepted to the re-entry program, but the financial advisor wanted my 2005 tax return paperwork, in which I did not have because I was still in Iraq. So, I thought this was being too much of a
hassle and decided again not to re-enroll. I should
not have to pay this school classes I did not take.
I will send a letter to the Dean of Admissions and the
president of the University. I am also instructed to
obtain legal help. So, I will be in touch real soon. I
just don't believe a school can make you pay for
classes you did not take and however was not allowed
to gain access to the classes on the website.
