MAL - Pearson Education Software Failure, Poor Customer Service, Product Failure, No Resolution

Taking a College Accounting Class we were forced to Purchase Pearson's MAL accounting software package. The software was full of bugs. The software was used / tested on no less than 5 different computers with windows XP and Vista. All computers and operating systems returned the same failures.

The software crashes, hangs up and when taking tests would randomly change selections. Thinking I was crazy I had others watch the selections I made and record them and then after submitting the test and reviewing my selections they were altered.

I contacted Tech support on several occassions and began my epic run around with Pearson's horrible tech support and even more horrendus customer service. Their first solution was they couldn't do anyhing and to contact my professor, which I did. My Prof.indicated it was Pearson's software so really there was nothing she could do. So after contacting tech support two more times before I could get help they again decided I should contact my prof. I did this again and she contacted them. I then recieved a form email telling me they didn't know what the problem was and they were moving it to a "tier 2" level. Thanks that helped a lot. At that point I heard nothing else until I contacted the company's distribution head directly.

This has resulted in a series of emails with a very unhelpful customer service rep. It has now been over a month since the customer service rep contact and I have still not recieved a refund or any resolution. Every email is some other delaying tactic.

I would advise any student or learning instituition to Aviod Pearson and any of their software products. The software is bugged and tech support/customer service has set a new low in my book!
