I am a current student at a cosmotology school which I will not name at this time. They are an accredited cosmetology school. It is privately owned and the school I believe is a scam. When you go through the orientation they make you feel great telling you that its one of the best schools of its kind and they go above and beyond to get you into upper class salons, their teachers have years of experience in the field and as instructors, ect.
Within the first month we realized that we had been fooled, the instructor was never with us she was always pulled from our class upto the front where the senior students needed her help as well. Yet they still took in more students and we had less and less room and less and less instruction as well. The problems we had we brought to the owner of the school and told her that we wanted to transfer to another school.
We would have had to pay $4,000 and our hours wouldn't transfer over, so we had to stay. We were put on probation and any complaints we had against this school must be made directly to the owner only. So we stayed and they brought in a great teacher that taught us alot and she was "let go" after about two months. Then they brought back a retired instructor that I believe is a pathological liar.
She taught us that bacteria cannot grow on metal, you can stand on a stool to cut someones hair, told us the wrong way to mix barbicide telling us that you only use 1 and a half caps to 60 ounces of water when the other instructor told us it must be 8 and a half caps qiute a difference on something that important. Fortunately she is only there two days out of the week, our other instructor is a former student that I went to school with that graduated in or around this past September (all their instructors with years of experience) Which is still in training mind you.
We are frustrated and talk about our frustrations and recently it had gotten back to the owner of the school. We had gotten lectured that she can kick us out at any time that it states in our contract that she can get rid of any student that disrupts her school. We would still have to pay, Only now its 13,900 total money due and we arent even getting properly trained. Please help if you have any advise on what to do... Thanx
