My husband thought he was ordering magazines at a fraction of the cost of the news stand price, well he was misled and lied to. We received a call stating he owed $1200.00 for magazines! What? Who would spend that much money on magaizines. NOT US!
I called the company and asked what exactly we were being charged for and they stated that they couldn't give out that information until we paid the past due amount owed of $159.00. I said we weren't paying a dime and that we wanted these magazines to stop coming! We were told that couldn't be done due to the fact that all magazines have been ordered from the distributors.
This is crap, I said I would call the distributors myself and cancel the subscriptions. Diamond informed me that even if we canceled the subscriptions we would STILL owe them because my husband had ordered the magazines. I stated that I thought in the state of CA we could cancel anytime without reason. I was given some more BULL and stopped listening.
Diamond said they have reported my husband to all three credit reporting agencies. I asked how could they do that when they didn't have my husbands information and they stated they did have it and the phone calls had been recorded. I asked to hear the phone calls and they stated they couldn't let me hear them until we gave them credit card information.
Diamond Enterprises is a crooked company that is trying to steal from hard working people. My husband has served his country in IRAQ for two tours and is getting ready to leave for a third. I think it is terrible what this company is trying to do to us! THIS IS AMERICA.
I have read other complaints on this company on this web site but would like to know how to beat them and if they really have legal rights to report him to the credit companies. I would love to hear from anyone on our rights and how to beat this company. My email address is (ROR redacted)
