On 3/17 I attended with my daughter a 90 minute seminar regarding how to pass the civil test, and get Government jobs. I attended this seminar because of a careerbuilder type ad that I received in my local newspaper.
After the seminar the well dressed individuals said that SNTS had a home study course which we could purchase that would help one pass the civil test.
The course was $995, but if one paid the whole amount we would get $100 off. I paid $895.00.
When I got home I read the small print and it stated that if i wanted to cancel i should do it within 3 days. On 3/19 I called the number that I was given, but no one picked up. I called non stop for 2 weeks, with no luck. On 3/26 I called my credit card company and cancelled the transaction and told them that I believed this was a scam.in fact I went on line on 3/19 and discovered that it was a scam. I also called my local Police station, who informed me that I should call the location where the seminar was being held.
It is so sad that there are people out there praying on gullible people like myself. Shame on them.
