In may my roommate at the time had been swindled by some salesmen from firstline security. They required a credit card and canceled check to start the home security system in which the roommate had none so I used mine.in August I contacted Firstline security to let them know that they needed to stop debiting my account for my roommate had moved out and took the security system with her. I was told I could get no imformation about the account because it was not in my name or my ss#.in Oct I moved, and once agian contacted Firstline who had still been taking money from my account. The woman I spoke with on the phone was rude. She told me that they would not stop taking money out of my account because it was the only source of money they had to pay the monthly bill. Yet at the same time she was not willing to give me any information as to wether the roommate had contacted them or not to change the billing information, because my name and ss# was not on the account. Livid I hung up and immediatly I contacted my bank to cancel my credit card. Dec they start taking money again out of me account. This time going through my routing number.
I once again contacted them and was told the same thing, there was a three year contact and they would continue to take the money from my account regadless if my name or ss# was on the security account or not, still refusing to give me any information because I was not the account holder!
By now I am livid, and I contact my bank again. I am told the only way I can deal with this is to close my checking account completely. This is not easy for me since all my checks are direct deposite along with my automatic bill payments being made monthly on my account. So I went into my branch and talked with the Bank manager. I filed some legal papers against firstline with them so that the money could be credited and they would be stopped from drawing from my account. I was reassured that this would not happen again. Then here it is a month later and once again they have found away through to my account.
If I total up how much they have taken from me I am sickened. That is $300 for a system that my name is not on, has not been in my home since August 1 and that is not even including the many over draft fees I have had to pay bc of this being taken from my account with no funds available.in december (while I was in the hospital) they put this debit through several times before finally it was paid by my bank. Each hit came with a $32 overdraft fee.
I want them to stop taking money from my account. I have a hard enough time keeping my head above water as a single mother of 4. Now I have this company that keeps taking money from my account. I am going to have to close the account I presently have and open another one, causing a lot of delays in my bill payments and automatic check deposites. How can they continue to get away with this? I am not on the account and I can't even access information on the account bc they do not have my ss#.
