Cricket Communications
Theft by Credit Card

We have been Cricket customers for about three months. We were set up on automatic fund withdrawal. We have in the past always received an email in the middle of the month, around the 20th letting us know when they would be drafting the payment out of our account. The email that we received this month stated that the money would be drafted on the 27th of the month. I the day that I received the email I contacted customer service to let them know that I did not get paid until the 28th, how could I get them to hold off drafting until then. I was told by customer service to go into a retail store and they would be able to stop it and change the due date. I asked about the latest that I could into the store due to the Christmas holiday. I was told that I could visit the store on the 26th.

On the 26th I went into my bank account and was shocked to see that the payment was already pending. I immediately contacted customer service, I was told that they could not stop the charge from going thru, and that they actually had seven days before the payment due date to hit my account. I told them that was all fine and well but the text message stated not until the 27th. I explained that I was going to incur overdraft fees because of the account being debited early. The customer service rep told me that if I did not have the text message that they could not help me.

I have now been charged 105.00 dollars in overdraft fees. When I contacted corporate I was told that I should have made a deposit to cover the cost of the payment so that I didn't have the fees on the account. I advised that if they had done as the text message stated that I would not have been charged at all. One of the thirty five dollar charges was for a check that was for 3.00 dollars. I have been accused of lying, I have been hung up on, I have been lied to and now I have become a victim of credit card theft all at the hands of corporate business.
