On November 30 I received a letter stating that I had won $36,600. Along with the letter I received a VERY authentic looking check in the amount of $3,899. The check was drawn on Big. Thompson Federal Credit Union. It was made out to me. It had all the right numbers and watermarks. It listed Rosalyn Doyle as the remitter.
My naturally suspicious mind decided to do some checking. The bank was legit. The website brought up reputable companies that this company supposedly supplied rewards for. But I did notice that the letter had terrible grammar usage and generally unusual wording.
I then googled the company and found that it was a scam. Too bad, I could have used the money.
