I am so glad I was skeptical when receiving a letter from the Reward Program of America and North America. They sent me what looked to be a very real check for $4,998.75! The name on the check was from a business called Medco.
The letter then stated to contact AMY HICKS immediately at 705-770-5912 to activate the check before depositing into my bank account. It said the check was to assist with the local taxes and administrative fees.
In any letter claiming I've won anything, I am very skeptical. I started asking questions right away. I asked who I was speaking to, how I so called won this amount and if this was real. She "Shantel Campbell" proceeded to tell me what I needed to do. The reward prize must be claimed not later than 29th of November, today is 4 Dec.
She asked what took me so long to respond, I then proceeded to tell her I had a death in the family and was unable to check my P.O. Box.
She then put me on hold which happened about 3 more times during the call. It really seemed suspicious to me then.
I then asked her what I needed to do then, she said to deposit the check which would clear in about a day or two since it was from New York. Then I would be receiving a Tax Exempt Form along with the rest of my winnings which would be delivered via courier.
I kept asking questions one after the other. I think I made her nervous because we somehow got disconnected.
I then told my husband and we googled every address and business they had on this letterhead and check. That's when I saw the other usacomplaints.com.
The amount in the letter was $31,1601.25 (not a real amount). The address on the letter in Jamaica, NY... The address on the check in Columbus, OH, then the canadian postage all didn't add up.
I'm glad I found this report to validate my suspicions. I just feel sorry for those who are elderly and not as skeptical, because they could really be hurt by this company.
