My report is just like so many others I have read. We originally contracted with American Moving Express but they gave our California to Michigan move to Dolphin Relocation Services. I selected the date I wanted the furniture to be delivered and then called that week to check on it and was told they had 2-3 weeks. I won't even get into how ridiculous that is.
They showed several hours late in the middle of the night, of course didn't get everything on the truck and charged me double the quoted price. I only put another 350 cu ft on the truck and by the time I paid for that, the tape and other materials, stairs fee the move went from a quoted $3200 to over $6000.
I was finally given a date of this past Sunday for my furniture to be delivered. I have been trying to call them for several days and they are not even answering the phone and the cell numbers I was given have been disconnected.
I spoke to the police departments today and was told they can't even go after them for theft because I signed a contract and they are just not fulfilling their part of the deal and that it is a civil matter. Since I can't find them who do I go after.
I can't believe I was this stupid. PLEASE stay away from Internet based movers - especially American Moving Express and Dolphin Relocation Services.
