I wanted to better myself and go to school, so I could get a better job being a single mom and all.
I decided to try TEC one of Kaplan University's Technical Colleges so I could get an associates degree in less time then all those other colleges considering I dont have a lot of time to do much of anything extra.
I had to drop out before I had even gone to 4 classes because of medical and other issues. I was told the amount I owed would be adjusted and that they could use the first loan dispersment they had recieved from me. They then told me they would not adjust the rate for the amount of time I went to school and that they are wanting me to pay the whole semester and they are not taking the loan dispersment, because "they are not allowed".
I called my loan company and told me that they are allowed to take my loan money. I called the university back and gave them the persons name and number that I had talked to, to verify the information I had been given. The Financial lady who handled all this her name is Sue said she didnt care that they would not accept it. I told her fine adjust the rate and I will make payments.
In short after months of arguing with them and checking back the rate was never adjusted and they would not make any payment arrangments with me.
Now Im getting calls from this guy Ron who apparently is there lawyer. He has threatned my life and my children and told me if I didnt leave my job even if I got fired to prove to him I dropped out that he would sue me and harm my family. I know these types of threats are not allowed and I have sent my dispute and proof of dropout to him in writing. He will not accept it because I did not leave my job (which he has made harrassing calls to) and prove it to him that day. I am continuing to get threatned and verbally abused! I am not sure what else I can do. For anyone who is reading this do not go to Kaplan University they will rip you off then verbally abuse and threaten bodily harm!
