I and my 80 year old parents received numerous calls from an individual identified as "Mr. Robertson." He claimed he represented a Law Firm that was going to prosecute me for fraud involving a delinquent Bank America account. He claimed I maxed-out my credit limit with no intention to pay, thus, "committing a fraud!"
After offering me an unattainable offer, I declined and said it was unreasonable. He continued to say that I would be prosecuted for fraud and misrepresentatiion and continued to call my parents, suggesting that they make good on the delinquent account.
A short time later, I called and made arrangements with someone else that was more suitable to me, taking into account my current income. He called back and said that the employee who had made these "acceptable arrangements, " had no right doing this and it was unacceptable to him.
He continued the harassing calls, at which time I refused to answer.
In conclusion, I would love to settle this account, however, his terms, coupled with his demeanor, made it impossible.
Q: Should I call Bank of America and try to settle with them?
Thank you!
