Just today, Sept. 26, I received a phone call from NCO, which is a collection agency. I had to call them back, as I wasn't home at the time. The woman I talked to was rude and wouldn't let me get a word in.
It was regarding an unpaid bill on A Chase Gold Visa that I obtained in the l980's. Due to some horrible bad luck, I had to file bankruptcy in late l994. Once the attorney filed the necessary papers and the creditors notified, including Chase, I never received another bill. The bankruptcy was discharged in February, 1995.
From that date to the present, I have never heard from Chase again.
I've lived in the same place for 28 years and have had the same telephone number all that time, and no statements ever came. Now 12 years after the bankruptcy, NCO calls and tries to intimate me. I couldn't get any answers to my questions other than it was Chase Gold Visa bill. Such as, how was I able to refinance my house or obtain an auto loan, and other big ticket items in the past 12 years if this debt was showing on my credit report as deliquent. My bankruptcy showed on my credit report for several years, and in some cases, I'm still declined, because the bankruptcy still comes up, but not Chase Gold Visa individually. This debt was discharged in the bankruptcy, and I owe them nothing.
I have written a letter to them and told them to stop harassing me, and trying to intimate me, and to answer my questions, so we will see if they answer me.
