Complaint / Review
CEC-CTU Online
All Schools are NOT the same Hoffman Estates / Illinois

I am a current employee of CTU Online/CEC, as well as a student in an online degree program at CTU Online. I am tired of hearing so many complaints from former employees about how things work at CTU. Yes, we are told it is a sales job, but selling education is not the same as selling a car. Our title as "National Admissions Advisors", for me... Is just that. I advise prospective students of the advantages of higher education, possible career growth potential or advancement by obtaining any kind of degree from Associates, Bachelor's and Masters degrees. I don't use "pressure" sales tactics, I "advise" prospective students whether or not continuing education and online education will best fit their needs. As an older (40's) single mother with only minimal secondary education, I found that online education was definitely a great move for myself. Allowing me to be able to still work a full-time job, take care of my family and looking at possible career growth in the field of MY choosing, online education was the only way I could continue my education at this time. I am enrolled currently in a Bachelor's degree program and am thrilled with my classes and instructors, I have to do the work to pass my classes. And as for ripping people off and making them go into debt? Education of any kind is expensive, and if you are lucky you might be smart enough in High School to get a scholarship... But let's be realistic. Any school you attend will have you fill out financial aid documents to see what you are eligible for... And that usually means student loans. It isn't something that "online education schools" do differently, if you don't have the funds to pay for something out of your pocket, how do you pay for it? CREDIT!!! That means taking out loans, or any other means of credit that will allow you to either make payments now or later, depending on what type it is. Education is expensive, and no matter if you go to Harvard, YALE, Rutgers or CTU Online or campus... You will need to take out student loans. So as for schools, CTU or otherwise ripping people off? Grow up and take responsibility for your own decisions, putting your signature on something and blaming someone else because they "pressured" you to enroll? I'm not buying it, if I don't want to do something... No one can "pressure" me to sign on the dotted line... Ever. And as for Admissions Advisors not having the best interest of the student in mind... I can't speak for any other advisors, but I have the interest of every single prospective student I enroll in school and do care whether or not they are successful and graduate!!
